Dr. Edward Boisits
Edward K. Boisits, Ph.D.
Vice President, Clinical Research and Biophysical Instrumentation

Dr. Boisits is responsible for the appropriate conduct of clinical trials providing the basic information necessary to evaluate and/or demonstrate the safety and efficacy of drugs and cosmetics. He serves as liaison and resource between IRSI and sponsors for the development of protocols, utilization of relevant biophysical instrumentation and interpretation of results.

Dr. Boisits received his doctorate in biology from St. John's University and enjoyed a career in the cosmetics/personal care products industry working as a scientist involved in establishing the safety and efficacy of skin and hair care products. Dr. Boisits worked in the industry for over twenty years with Lever Brothers Company, Johnson and Johnson Baby Products Company and Chesebrough-Pond's USA where his last position was Director: Biophysical Research, Research Guidance Testing and Product Safety. During this time, he also held the position of Adjunct Professor at Teikyo-Post University where he taught biology to undergraduates. Dr. Boisits has authored or co-authored numerous papers and presentations in the areas of skin and skin/product evaluation and co-edited the book Neonatal Skin: Structure and Function.
