| Corporate Director of Recruiting Marcia Piik is responsible for overseeing the recruitment of
literally thousands of subjects for the clinical studies performed by IRSI at their
research sites in both New York and Maine. This mandates a unique ability to interview and
evaluate people. And since much of the recruiting is accomplished through various types of
advertising, a thorough knowledge of media and marketing is also required. Marcia is well
equipped for both tasks.
Upon graduation from Oberlin College, she enrolled in a
social work program at Smith College for Social Work, which included an internship in
field placement at the National Jewish Hospital in Denver. This led to a three-year stint
as a case worker at the Social Security Administration in New York. From there, Marcia
went on to develop and refine her marketing skills, performing the multiple disciplines of
media planning, buying and placement in the advertising agency field. |
